Does a change in marital status affect my will?

Marriage and divorce both have effects on a will.

I have already made a will, and subsequently got married

Getting married could revoke a will made before the marriage, unless the will is specifically made in contemplation of that marriage. If you get married it is better to draft a new will to ensure there is no question of revocation.

Divorce can completely invalidate a will, depending on your state.
It is better to create a new will following divorce so there is no question of validity.
